“For the LORD grants wisdom! From his“For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”Proverbs 2:6 NLT
Wisdom comes in two ways: It is both a God-given gift and also the result of an energetic search. Wisdom’s starting point is God and his revealed Word, the source of “knowledge and understanding” (2:6). In that sense, wisdom is God’s gift to us. But he gives it only to those who earnestly seek it. But because God’s wisdom is hidden from the rebellious and foolish, it takes effort to find it and use it. The pathway to wisdom is strenuous. When we are on the path, we discover that true wisdom is God’s and that he will guide us and reward our sincere and persistent search.
God gives us wisdom and victory, but not for drifting through life or acting irresponsibly with his gifts and resources. If we are faithful to him and keep our purpose in life clearly in mind, he will keep us from pride and greed. (Tyndal Study Bible)
We all start our life’s with no knowledge. As infants we know nothing. Then what happens our parents set on a course of teaching us. Preschool, Primary school and then High school, our parents try to give us the best education possible. Just like the commentary explains this process is strenuous. My kids will vouch for it’s tough. You have to work hard to achieve these worldly things.
You see God created heaven and earth. So just like the commentator says He is the source of knowledge. Wisdom is God’s gift to us.
I have always been amazed at the wisdom of Pastors. Yes, they have also searched and studied. At the end of the day, their wisdom is a gift from God. Know I understand where that wisdom comes from. Just like I said yesterday, He will reward us with wisdom and blessings, only if it glorifies Him.
We have all heard this, “it was revealed to me” Does it not start to make sense. That’s why it’s easier for some than others. Just like sin keeps us from God, rebellion and foolishness will keep us from wisdom. It’s through strenuous persistence that wisdom will come. God gives it to those that earnestly seek it.
Just like we are mandated to spread the Good news and to be on Fire for God, we are not to drift through life aimlessly. We are to use these talents.
“ Lord I pray that you give me wisdom. That I will share that wisdom with the world. I thank you for revealing Your knowledge to me. In Jesus name. Amen.”
